No Security Clearance Required about security clearance definitions Position Description Develops, integrates and documents structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design. Develops, maintains and modifies structural and interior payload system and component designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle. Leads performance, integration and analysis of tests to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications. Manages supplier development, test and production activities and coordinates with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals. Develops new design/analysis processes and tools to improve the effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort. Assists with investigation of emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements. Works under minimal direction. Preferred - Ability to manipulate complex computer aided design tools and systems (e.g., computer aided design/computer aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM), computer aided three dimensional interactive (CATIA), Mentor Graphics, Unigraphics). Able to build and manipulate complex data sets, (e.g., compare CATIA to measurement data, create stereo lithography files). + Design / Produce Process Basic - Complete knowledge of Boeing design, production, and build processes (e.g., maintenance access solid, dependability cost model, produceability trade offs) to effectively influence product design. Demonstrates understanding of the applicable scientific and engineering knowledge and routinely includes company-wide subject matter experts to obtain good information for the engineering decision-making process. Basic Qualifications For Consideration Are you willing to travel 20-30% of the time? Do you meet the criteria described in the Typical Education / Experience section of this requisition? Do you have a minimum of 5 years experience in CATIA v5 Enovia Tool Suite? Do you have design experience working within aircraft structures? Typical Education/Experience Level 3 - Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 5 or more years experience, Master's degree with 3 or more years experience or PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Level 4 - Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 9 or more years experience, Master's with 7 or more years experience or PhD with 4 or more years experience.
