STRUCTURAL STEEL ESTIMATOR

Our client, a well established company in the oil gas industry is searching for an experienced C.E.T or Technical Professional to join their team as a Structural Steel Estimator!

Duties:

Read and interpret drawing dimensions, fitting and welding details, primary and secondary processing requirements.
Review customer RFQ's, interpret details, prepare quotations.
Communicate and respond to customer inquiries, confirm questionable detail provided.
Prepare cut lists, drawing packets, and order details for production.
Inquire and receive raw material, hardware, accessories, and transportation quotations from suppliers.
Communicate all production requirements with production manager.
Respond to all production, WIP, finished goods requirements to customers.
Participate in weekly pre-production and production meetings.
Communicate and contribute to all estimating team assignments, and workload requirements.
Problems solve and develop effective solutions to customer, and production challenges.
Collaborate, contribute, and make decisions with estimating team.
Work independently with a minimum of supervision.

Qualifications:

CET or technical designation from a post-secondary institution.
Experience estimating pipe supports, structural oilfield components.
Special knowledge or experience with Oil sands applications, tank farms, piping applications.
Experience working with a fabrication MRP system.
Fluent in the use of Microsoft applications, Word, Excel, Access.
Experience fabricating, fitting and welding of pipe supports, or structural applications.
Fitting-Welding background with strong technical skills and aptitude to effectively estimate.
