Structured Finance, Business Development
The Business Development Director (BD) will work to identify and secure new business opportunities. This is a new position and reports to the Managing Director. The BD is expected to develop both existing and new relationships through client meetings and networking. The BD will be interacting with lawyers, advisors, arrangers and asset owners. The brief is to promote all the services offered by the firm and be alert to opportunities for new products and service enhancements.
The individual will be required to proactively engage with all of their European offices. The candidate should be conversant in the products offered by a corporate service provider, and familiar with the capital markets.
The role requires the practical hands-on approach of an experienced manager, including transaction management (as and when necessary). The successful candidate will be highly self motivated, organized and have sound technical knowledge in a relevant discipline.
The BD has the opportunity to be proactively involved in a growing business, taking a highly visible role in developing the firm’s client base and service offering.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Contribute to the development of strategic marketing documents.
- Participate in the firm's pan-European business development initiatives.
- Communicate their services to prospective clients and market their overseas offices.
- Follow up on new business opportunities and set up associated meetings.
- Prepare call reports and provide management with market feedback.
- Prepare marketing literature for distribution through multiple channels.
- Seek to maximise revenues from existing clients and to work in conjunction with all business areas to identify new opportunities.
EXPERIENCE
- The candidate should have a number of year’s professional experience, ideally with exposure to structured finance.
- Experience of dealing directly with senior management on transactional as well as broader commercial matters is essential.
- A proven track record in delivering business growth.

- A demonstrable ability to understand, discuss and probe complex capital market transactions.
- An excellent level of communication skills, both oral and written, and a high level of interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work with all levels of staff and senior management, both within and external to the firm.
- Confident in networking and meeting new people.
- The ability to balance competing priorities and meet deadlines within the context of a demanding workload.
