Position Description:
The Interest Rates controllers team is looking for an associate level candidate to support the structured notes desk. The desk trades structured notes, interest rate credit default swaps, US treasuries, exchange traded notes, FX options, listed futures and asset swaps. In addition, the desk earns investment banking revenue by assisting clients in issuing structured debt. The role will include daily interaction with the trading desk, production and reporting of fully attributed PL, market risk analysis, balance sheet analysis, and interaction with diverse groups across finance, treasury, operations and the business unit.
The optimal candidate will be an analytical, highly motivated individual with 2-4 years of related experience.
Responsibilities include:
• Production of the fully attributed PL
• Month-end close
• Balance sheet analysis/substantiation
• Daily interaction with desk
• Process reengineering to improve efficiencies
• Quarterly disclosures
• Ad hoc request from the desk and other internal clients
Skills Required:
• 2-4 years of work experience
• Fast learner self-motivated
• PL production experience preferred
• Accounting/Finance degree preferred
• Strong analytic and problem solving skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel (v-lookups, pivot tables)
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
