Role Description
DB Asset Management Global Valuation Oversight
This newly-formed group within the Finance Division oversees the valuation activities of all DB Asset Management’s business channels. The mandate is summarized as follows:
• Oversee global adequacy of pricing controls and consistency of processes and documentation, e.g. in cases where affected assets are held in multiple regions or across business channels
• Oversee and monitor the portfolio of Approved Alternative Pricing Methods
• Oversee and monitor exceptions in the regular pricing processes
• Vet Alternative Pricing Methods and present to Pricing Committees for approval
• Oversee the validity of valuations received from Pricing Vendors Experts
• Facilitate regional solutions to pricing control, process and documentation where local requirements dictate
• Oversee valuation-related financial disclosures
• Escalate important Valuation issues discussed at regional and business-specific Pricing Committees to the Global Valuation Committee and/or the regional Operating Committees as necessary
Structured Product (ABS/MBS/CMBS) Valuation Specialist
Qualifications:
• Knowledgeable of Structured Products Markets and valuation methodologies across various asset classes (ABS/MBS/CMBS/CDO/CLO)
• Experience generating fundamental valuations and relative value analyses on these asset types, preferably through the recent Credit Crisis
• Able derive independent inputs (i.e., from transaction levels, research) for these asset types
• Solid technical background and proficiency using industry-standard tools (i.e., INTEX)
• Strong interaction communication skills
Job Description:
• Perform valuation and advisory services to DB Portfolio Managers in connection with Structured Products
• Develop and implement monitoring oversight processes to assess reliability/quality of pricing provided by external pricing vendors
• Evaluate ad hoc Fair Value proposals necessary due to gap in vendor coverage or reliability concerns
• Monitor for changes in capital markets and market conditions that may cause material impact to specific holdings of the Asset Management Division
• Participate in quarterly Valuation Committees overseeing valuations of Structured Products
