Business Unit Overview:
BlackRock Solutions maintains a dedicated Portfolio Management team within its Financial Markets Advisory (FMA) group specializing in the provision of quantitative and qualitative asset management, portfolio disposition and risk analytics to clients. The team is active in all capital markets sectors and currently has approximately $60bn of assets under direct management. There are currently [forty six] team members globally and seven of which are based in Europe in London and Dublin with the balance based in New York.
Job Purpose/Background:
To ensure the highest possible standards of delivered output to clients, the Portfolio Management team works side by side with the FMA Advisory team, Portfolio Analytics Group (PAG) and BlackRock Services India (BSI). The FMA Advisory team provides a project management and consultative overlay to all projects managed by the business as well as marketing the business globally to potential clients. The PAG team provides best in class capital markets portfolio level analytics, stratification and asset segregation functionality facilitated through BlackRock’s Aladdin platform. A further key function is the BSI team based in India who provide analytical and model development support to all of FMA’s activities globally. Close coordination and interaction between the Portfolio Management team and all of these functions on a daily basis continues to be vital for the continued success of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce analytical and written content for all EMEA Portfolio Management required responsibilities and deliveries using firm and third party software. Primary focus will be within the European Structured Products, Fixed Income and debt markets.
- Provide accurate and timely delivery of asset market valuations.
- Produce both scheduled and ad hoc client memos and deep dives detailing coherent, accurate, qualitative and quantitative analysis.
- Review, amend and present line level and portfolio analytics for internal peer review. Presentation to clearly address market side issues relevant to output volatility.
- Support global / European RfP content generation as may be required. Attend and support new client business pitches as required.
- Coordinate analytic work production with PAG and BSI teams.
- Generate and deliver both written and verbal client and portfolio relevant research which enhances FMA’s breath of understanding of market trends and sector significant issues.

Skills/Experience/Qualifications:
- Enthusiasm, industriousness, integrity, team-orientation and adaptability.
- Strong financial modeling skills.
- IMC Qualified.
- Strong ability to relate analytic output to relevant client deliverable or portfolio context.
- Ability to review both written and analytic content with high level of diligence
- Strong communication skills; ability to clearly relay complex analytics or capital structures to diverse internal and external audiences.
- Strong understanding of market and asset mechanics of multiple capital markets sectors.
- Ability to manage own priorities and projects under delivery timeframe constraints.
- Ability to assess, review and comprehend capital markets oriented content and concisely present relevant issues in client or portfolio context.
- Strong preference for advanced excel, Bloomberg and power point skills.
- Proficiency in the use of Intex, Trepp and ABSxchange or similar preferred.
- European lanugages an advantage - especially Spanish or Italian.
