Overview:
Corporate and Investment Bank (CIB) comprises three businesses: Corporate Finance, Markets and Global Transaction Banking (GTB) and includes regional coverage in the Bank's key growth areas.
CIB Markets is one of the largest business lines of Deutsche Bank. It comprises all Sales, Trading and Research activities in Debt and Equity products.
CIB Markets is looking to hire a qualified candidate for the Global Finance (GF) Structuring team in Birmingham, UK.
The Structuring business combines world class structuring capabilities across all asset classes, delivering fully tailored multi-asset structured products and services to our clients, working closely with the product (Global Finance and Foreign Exchange) and coverage (Institutional Clients Group, Capital Markets and Treasury Solutions) businesses.
GF Structuring offers a range of financing solutions, and is building a new offering of solutions or products for clients interested in exposure or hedging of underlying short-term interest rate risk. The desk works closely with Deutsche Bank's market leading Foreign Exchange (FX) structuring desk, which offers solutions and products on asset and liability sides to a broad range of clients (including corporates and financial institutions) interested in exposure or hedging of underlying currency risk. GF Structuring was started in 2010 and is one of the fastest growing businesses within Global Markets Structuring.
This is an Associate role for the Global Finance (GF) Structuring desk, which is part of the Global Finance and Foreign Exchange (GFFX) Structuring desk.
THE BUSINESS
The GF business, within the GF and Foreign Exchange (GFFX) division of Global Markets, is diverse and encompasses:
1) Asset Finance: (a) collateralised lending to financial institution clients, mainly against liquid bond and loan assets including portfolios, (b) cross-border reciprocal lending to corporates (which frequently involves working with Asia or Latin America teams), (c) lending to corporates where it facilitates derivatives business opportunities for GFFX, and (d) lending against structured notes withFE, credit or index underlyings.
2) Liquidity management: assisting Deutsche Bank's Treasury with any Structuring needs, including structured deposits, evergreens, collateralised deposits.
3) Short Term Interest Rate Transactions (STIRT) and Money Market Derivative (MMD) businesses: Deutsche Bank has been a market leader in STIRT and MMD businesses for many years. GF Structuring is part of a new initiative to build out the structured part of this business, encompassing options, investment and hedging strategies and proprietary rule-based indices.
Key Responsibilities:
You will be supporting London GF Structuring in all of the following:
Marketing: You will prepare generic and tailored marketing materials (presentations, emails, and product guide sheets), scenario analysis, and back-testing. You will be approaching client coverage teams and following up for feedback, tracking progress in detail with respect to each product, and assisting them in pitching clients or negotiating.
Documentation: You will prepare term sheets. Reviewing commercial terms based on loan, International Swaps and Derivatives Association or Global Markets Risk Architecture document frameworks (with support from Legal Department). You will compare transactions and in due course negotiate with clients.
Analysis: You will provide indicative pricing, generating trade ideas and analysing markets.
Process: You will manage the efficient progress of projects, through task lists and liaise with internal or external parties and clients. You will manage the internal approval process with parties such as Credit Officers, Legal, Accounting, Tax and more.
You will have:
A strong finance or engineering or quantitative background through relevant undergraduate studies
Relevant experience in credit and rates products, including derivatives
Specialised knowledge of credit and rates markets, in particular derivatives, loans, Credit Default Swap (CDS), bonds, Structured Notes, Repo transactions, Office Intranet Services (OIS), Money Markets deposits and tenor basis-swaps; preferably in Europe
Some understanding of accounting or finance and macro economics
Experience of working with senior sales people, traders and clients
Programming experience (especially Visual Basics for Applications)
Knowledge of Deutsche Bank Analytics is preferred
Superior communication skills (written and verbal) with strict attention to detail
Preferably a recognized technical designation- CFA, MBA or MSc in finance related subjects or relevant international equivalent
You will be:
