This high impact, high visibility role sits within the Structures and Productivity business unit looking at all divisions of the bank. The role will give you unique opportunity to liaise with Directors of all divisions of the bank to deliver a mechanism to control headcount and manage productivity within Santander.

The Team

The team is a centre of expertise on organisational blueprinting and continuously drives across Santander:

Organisation Structure evolution
Headcount control agenda
FTE capacity planning
Productivity orientation

Structures recommends to the Santander leadership an efficient organisation structure and the optimal headcount mapped to it and works closely with all senior management within business units to embed a new headcount culture within Santander.

Specific areas of focus of the Structures team are:

Continuous cycle of organization/operating model reviews to assess and shape the future state operating model
Developing models to improve and track bank wide productivity metrics
Building robust capacity modelling methodologies and tools for efficient resource management
Approval of all structure changes in the business, including any transfers, new roles etc.
Setting/tracking the optimal headcount targets for each department within Santander
Reporting to ExCo and Santander leadership on progress against headcount plans and organisation reviews

As a Structures and Headcount Manager your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

A degree in a numerical field (Engineering; Maths; Sciences) would be preferred
Experience in database management
Background in Management Information analysis
Ability to challenge key stakeholders and manage their expectations
Team management skills

As a Structures and Headcount Manager your main responsibilities will involve:

Ensuring that robust methodologies, tools and techniques for managing headcount and embedding organisational structures and productivity models are in place and applied appropriately across Santander
Supporting the delivery of structural reviews to ensure that optimal headcount is managed and delivered effectively.
Managing the senior stakeholders expectations in terms of growth requests to ensure all divisions operate within budgets
Establishing links between headcount targets, structural reviews, productivity management and capacity planning
Providing central control point for the structure of the Bank
Managing 1 - 2 Technical Business Consultants

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000+ £6,000 car allowance and benefits
