POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Student Learning Center Coordinator will assist with the University's Tutoring Center and its sub-centers for students, faculty, and continuing education efforts. In addition, the Coordinator will assist with the planning and coordination of the tutor processes. Assist with requesting and/or collecting, managing, and interpreting data collection for the area assigned and provide reports and information upon request or on a regular basis. The Coordinator will help advise on supplemental resources needed to differentiate instruction and provide instructional support within all courses, especially the first terms of success. KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITES: Assist with the coordination of the process by which faculty tutors are assigned. Monitor email-boxes and provide live presence to facilitate immediate response to student inquiries. Provide guidance and mentoring to students identified as having academic difficulties. Follow up with students as they continue through assigned developmental modules and tutorials. Update tracking systems and maintain relevant records. Administer and interpret the results of assessments. Regularly investigate and recommend all external and internal opportunities to assist students such as software, external companies, etc. Aid in the creation/implementation of tutorials and training modules for use within the centers. Perform other duties as required. EDUCATION/ WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS AND DESIRED SKILLS: Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred Experience in developmental math, reading, or education preferred Minimum of 2-4 years in higher education required Previous work with adult learners required Experience in online course and supplemental resource delivery Superior communication skills, both written and oral, required Excellent organization skills required Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, to include Word, Excel, is required Able to work a flexible work shift to include weekends and evenings is required Excellent analytical, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills required Able to effectively communicate orally (in person and by telephone) and in writing Able to multi-task, yet maintain close attention to detail and timeliness of work production Able to work in a positive team-oriented manner with a variety of people (students, faculty, staff, administrators, vendors, and members of the general public) Language Skills: Able to read, analyze, and interpret common journals and legal documents. Able to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Able to effectively present information to executive management, faculty, staff, and/or students. Mathematical Skill: Able to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Ability: Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to present facts to faculty for departmental response. Able to deal with a variety of information presented in oral or written formats. Able to deal with non-verbal behavior in assisting with problem resolution.
