STUDENT SERVICES ASSISTANT REGISTRATION AND ACADEMIC RECORDS Job in Los Angeles 90010, California US
Southwestern Law School is seeking a detail-oriented individual interested in a career higher education. The ideal candidate will be a versatile self-starter who is capable of working in student or administrative services with minimal supervision while providing support; interacting effectively with a variety of constituencies including students, faculty and staff; and initiating and completing multiple assignments and projects successfully.
The Registration and Academic Records Office is responsible for conducting the registration process; planning and coordinating final examinations; maintaining student records, including grades, academic standings and awards; as well as preparing transcripts and bar certifications. The office also process deferments and is the primary reception area for the law school
Position duties include, but are not limited to:
- Ability to effectively and efficiently manage heavy telephone and student inquiries about academic programs, procedures and requirements.
- Exceptional database and record management, word processing, text and numeric proofreading, document management, desktop publishing and editing;
- Special project coordination, and
- Ability to work effectively as a team or individually.
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree with two years’ experience in student or administrative services. The successful candidate will also possess excellent interpersonal, service, and verbal/written communication skills; good judgment; strong organizational and planning abilities; and proficiency in computer programs (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint), e-mail and internet usage.
