Description
Under the direct supervision of a Study Director or Program Director the Study Monitor will be responsible for scientific oversight of In Vivo Services projects (e.g. phenotyping, compound evaluation, etc.). Study Monitor will assist in quoting, preparation of the "statement of work", protocol development, project planning, in-lab project management, procedures and AXAPTA accuracy, execution of biomethods, and all related customer interaction for the service area.
Required Skills
- Independent study leadership. Training (learning and teaching as needed) on processes and procedures as required. Reviewing and understand study protocols in terms of scientific content and in terms of the requirement of successful execution.
- Working with operations to schedule studies in to the lab. Working with operations to schedule staffing required for execution of procedures. Assisting in the execution of major procedures and providing general oversight of all procedures. Working with technologists to ensure their competency on procedures being executed.
- Communicating study details to PD or SD and to the client, as directed by the supervising manager. Communicating directives from the PD or SD and ensuring directives are followed.
- Ensure equipment is adequately maintained and prepared for use on study. Ensure data is updated in a timely manner. Ensure AXAPTA data is appropriately captured. Ensure the timely R Uing of studies.
- Provide mature, professional and positive mentoring and leadership to technologists.
Required Experience
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Biology or a related scientific discipline with two (2) years of leadership experience within a scientific laboratory preferably in a CRO.
- Knowledge and skill relating to laboratory animal handling and In Vivo biomethods. Ability to read, comprehend and prepare clear, comprehensive technical reports, recommendations and proposals.
- Written and oral communication skills sufficient to permit clear, effective and persuasive exchange of information with people representing a wide diversity of disciplines and levels of sophistications. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in an environment requiring discretion, judgment, tack and diplomacy.
- Excellent problem solving skills and ability to resolve techinical issues independently and in a timely manner. Excellent organizational and time managemet skills and ability to pay attention to details in a fast paced high volume environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Working knowledge of database and project planning software is highly desired.
