Subject Matter Expert
Job Description: Raytheon is supporting a proprietary customer contract for delivering technical support to customer management and providing resources for the technical services required to enable customer mission accomplishment. In support of the customer's strategic direction, Raytheon is looking for motivated individuals who can support the development of new and innovative technologies and techniques. A subject matter expert is needed to support the customer contract.
Responsibilities will include :
- Provides technical knowledge and analysis of highly specialized applications and operational environments, high-level functional systems analysis, design, integration, documentation and implementation advice on exceptionally complex problems that need extensive knowledge of the subject matter for effective implementation
- Participates as needed in all phases of software development with emphasis on the planning, analysis, testing, integration, documentation, and presentation phases
- Applies principles, methods and knowledge of the functional area of capability to specific task order requirements, advanced mathematical principles and methods to exceptionally difficult and narrowly defined technical problems in engineering and other scientific applications to arrive at automated solutions
- Organizes, directs and coordinates the planning and production of project activities
- Develops plans, schedules, and resource estimates for projects and task orders using established project management standards.
- Partners with the Program Manager and Program Engineer for overall program performance.
- Manages multi-functional resources to meet technical performance, cost and schedule commitments
- Ensures projects are completed on schedule, within budget and meets technical requirements of the assignment.
- Keeps current on advances in the field of IT relevant to customer needs
- Coordinates and maintains internal and external communication with development/user organizations.
Required Skills:
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must have active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance
- Possesses in-depth knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
1. Forensic analysis
2. Cyber security
3. Information security
4. Computer science,
5. Engineering,
6. Mathematics,
7. Business process engineering;
8. Software development
- Minimum of 8 years subject area professional experience.
- Strong understanding of the Proprietary Customer
- Qualified Six Sigma Specialist or equivalent
- Effective leadership skills and the ability to demonstrate team building and collaboration across technical functions.
- Outstanding communication, organization, and problem solving skills.
- Customer Focused.
Desired Skills:
- 12 years+ subject area professional experience
- Highly effective communication and written skills
- Demonstrated ability to succinctly synthesize data into information;
- Comprehensive planning skills for both short-term requirements and long-term opportunities;
- Knowledge, ability and experience with Raytheon Six Sigma and Integrated Product Team deployment
- Good judgment and decision-making skills
- Ability to achieve results and effectiveness of multiple functions considered to be of significant importance to the customer's long-term success
- Experience with Microsoft Project
Required Education (including Major): Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Science, or Mathematics. Masters Degree preferred
