Job Details Requisition Number 11-0852 Title Subject Matter Expert/Course Writer HS English City Herndon State VA Description Role Description: The SME/course writer is responsible to write the content for the assigned component of a particular course, in his/her area of expertise. This position is project-based, and the writer will follow the instructional design guidelines and requirements put forth by the Aventa curriculum development team. All content produced will be original. Responsibilities: Author course content for grades 6-12 including core course instruction, assessments, multimedia, and/or practice games. Use K12/Aventa authoring tools and processes as well as following the instructional design guidelines set forth by the Aventa team Accept and incorporate feedback to produce the strongest end product. Provide accurate updates to project management regarding project status Communicate availability and strive to maintain a consistent time commitment Requirements Instructional experience in the area of course writing is necessary, 3 years minimum experience required. Bachelor s degree in the area of specialty. Experience writing in an online delivery model Strong understanding of content scaffolding Maintains awareness of new and emerging technologies within the chosen field of instruction and the potential impact on our instructional design model.
