Ajilon is currently looking for a Subpoena/Records Clerk. This position plays a key role in the small, in-house legal department and works directly with Senior Counsel and the General Counsel. The successful candidate will review and respond to a high volume of subpoenas and requests for records, log legal documents, generate reports and perform other tasks as required, including records research for litigation and general administrative assistance.
He/she will be primarily responsible for the following essential duties and responsibilities:
- Sorting, logging and reviewing incoming requests to decide what documents are responsive, and whether any date or subject matter restrictions are appropriate
- Drafting objections if appropriate
- Generating electronically available reports
- Working with individuals to obtain personnel, medical, and other records
- Gathering, preparing and timely producing documents in response to subpoenas and record requests
- Preparing invoices and tracking payments received
- Periodically updating information memoranda produced with documents, and departmental records procedures, as necessary
- Drafting and executing declarations and correspondence
- Testifying re: records, if necessary
- Responding to telephone inquiries concerning subpoenas and records requests
- Other functions, as assigned, which may include records research for litigation, as assigned by the in-house legal team, and administrative work (such as electronic and physical filing and assistance with mailings) as assigned by the Legal/Executive Assistant
