Substance Misuse Nurse with Offenders – Hull

Hays Healthcare are seeking to appoint an experienced substance misuse nurse in Hull. The post holder will be an integral member of a multi-disciplinary and multi-agency team offering specialist prescribing services, rapid access to healthcare assessment, responsive titration and a range of clinical interventions to offenders entering into the drug and alcohol treatment system. This will include healthcare assessments, BBV testing, immunisations.

Specific duties and requirements:
- Preferably substance misuse experience (with criminal justice), including issuing methodone and beprenorphine prescriptions
- Dose review appointments (1:1)
- BBV immunisation and testing
- Healthcare assessments (including BP, peak flow)
- ECGs
- Drug testing (urine and oral swab)

All applicants must be either a fully qualified registered general nurse (RGN) or registered mental health nurse (RMN), with appropriate experience working with substance misuse services and offenders. This position is on a full time temporary basis to commence at the end of August, with a view to ongoing service. The post holder will be required to work flexibly within an agreed number of hours to maintain the most appropriate level of service provision.
