Our UK operations are now expanding the scope of our teams based in Scotland and are currently looking to add additional substation development engineers to our business based out of Glasgow.

Job Description

The role itself is that of a Project Development Engineer to work on 132-400KV Substation Projects. You will be leading a team of specialist design engineers and commercial staff to develop cost effective solutions. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: - Team management, to identify/assess investment options and further develop the design, programme and cost model for the chosen option, ensuring this can be constructed/commissioned within the programme constraints. Leading the development of Substation projects through several staged gates to the point of acceptance at each gate, including development of project target costs at each stage. Demonstrable leadership and communication skills - Experience in planning, risk management, cost control and legislation relating to power projects.

Candidate Description

Candidates will be professionally qualified engineers holding an engineering degree and ideally having attained Chartered status. Candidates should be able to demonstrate a significant track record in the design and development of HV transmission schemes ideally within the UK or another highly developed environment. Experience with porjects at lower voltages relating to distribution level work would also be of interest.

Candidates will have spent time in an engineering function with a specialist contractor, utility or consultant within the electrical Transmission and Distribution field.
