SANDWICH ARTIST
Report to: Shift Manager/Assistant Manager/Manager/Multi-Unit Manager
Position Summary: A Sandwich Artist greets and serves guests, prepares food, maintains food safety and sanitation standards, and handles or processes light paperwork. Exceptional customer service is a major component of this position.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
1. Prepares food neatly, accurately, and in a timely way.
2. Demonstrates a complete understanding of menu items and explains it to guests accurately. Exhibits a cheerful and helpful manner when dealing with guests.
3. Checks products in sandwich unit area and restocks items to ensure a sufficient supply throughout the shift.
4. Cleans as directed.
5. Greets guests and prepares their orders, uses Point of Sale system/cash register to record the order, collects payment from guests and makes change.
6. Understands and adheres to all quality standards, formulas and procedures.
7. Accounts for cash flow and inventory during the shift.
8. Understands and adheres to proper food handling, safety and sanitization standards while preparing food, serving food, and clean up.
9. Maintains professional appearance and grooming standards as outlined in the Operations Manual.
10. Performs light paperwork duties as assigned.
Pre-requisites:
Education: Some high school or equivalent.
Experience: Ability to understand and implement written and verbal instructions.
Physical: Must be able to work any area of the restaurant when needed and to operate a computerized Point of Sale system/cash register. Position requires bending, standing and walking the entire workday. Must have the ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.
SENIOR SANDWICH ARTIST

Position Summary:
The Shift Manager supervises the operations of a shift to ensure that food safety, product preparation, and cleanliness, and inventory control standards are maintained. This may include scheduling and supervising staff. Exceptional customer service is a major component of this position.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
1. Performs all tasks and responsibilities of a Sandwich Artist as outlined above.
2. Trains newer or less experienced Sandwich Artists in their tasks and responsibilities.
3. Practices inventory control standards.
4. Inspects equipment and storage facilities throughout a shift to ensure that equipment is in proper working order.
5. Schedules and supervises staff as needed.
6. Performs paperwork duties as needed.
Pre-Requisites:
Educate: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Experience: A minimum of 1 year experience in the quick service restaurant environment, communications and organizational skills.
Physical: Must be able to work any area of the restaurant when needed and to operate a computerized Point of Sale system/cash register. Position requires bending, standing and walking the entire workday. Must have the ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.
ASSISTANT MANAGER
Reports to: Manager/Owner
Position Summary: The Assistant Manager supervises daily operations to ensure that food safety, product preparation, and cleanliness standards are maintained. Schedules and supervises staff. Maintains standards of restaurant safety and security. Exceptional customer serve is a major component of this position.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
1. Performs all tasks and responsibilities of a Shift Manager as outlines in Shift Manager job description.
2. Manages a staff approximately 4-12. Assigns, oversees and evaluates work. Recommends promotion, transfer, or termination of employees. May conduct written and verbal staff evaluations.
3. Coordinates and supervises staff, so that standards of cleanliness are maintained as outlined in the Operations Manual.
4. As needed, supervises food preparation to ensure that food safety and operations standards are maintained.
5. Performs paperwork duties as needed.
6. Assists with planning of special events and promotions.
Pre-Requisites:
Education: High school graduate.
Experience: Experience in the quick service restaurant environment, preferably with supervisory experience. Requires excellent communication skills, ability to deal with all levels of employees. Computer knowledge is desirable.

MANAGER
Reports to: Multi-Unit Manager/Owner
Position Summary:
The Manager performs and directs overall restaurant management. Responsible for inventory and money control systems. Directs staff to ensure that food safety, product preparation, and cleanliness standards are maintained. Maintains standards of restaurant safety and security. Recruits staff and oversees training program. May contact prospective customers to promote sales- may establish inventory schedules. Responsible for local marketing initiatives. Maintains business records. Exceptional customer service is a major component of this position.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
1. Completes and posts the staff work schedules.
2. Maintains business records. Analyzes business records to increase sales.
3. Communicates changes of food preparations, formulas, standards, etc. to staff.
4. Supports local and national marketing initiatives.
5. Ensures that all local and national health and food safety codes are maintained and company safety and security policy are followed.
6. Recruits, rewards and terminates staff as needed.
7. Identifies and contacts prospective customers to promote sales.
8. Plans special events and promotions.
Pre-Requisites:
Education: High school graduate or equivalent, college degree preferred.
Experience: A minimum of two (2) years in the quick service restaurant environment, experience in supervising and training staff. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

MULTI-UNIT MANAGER
Report to: Subway Restaurant Owner
Position Summary:
Coordinates and supports all activities within the Subway Restaurants' assigned geographic area, trains, coaches and supports Managers, plans and sets business goals in coordination with the Subway Restaurant owner, is primarily concerned with in-store issues.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
1. Provides leadership, direction and supervision to Managers and staff in the Subway Restaurants' geographic area to ensure compliance with the Franchisor standards and applicable government regulations.
2. Works with Subway Restaurant owners and Managers to establish sales goals by using available reports to identify opportunities and works with Managers, Assistant Managers and Shift Managers to achieve such goals.
3. Coaches and trains Managers, Assistant Managers and Shift Managers for operational excellence, helps develop new hire orientation programs and rewards programs, monitors training processes to ensure quality training of employees. Establishes staffing levels for Managers and Assistant Managers and monitors compliance with such levels.
4. Ensures that correct operational procedures are followed and takes corrective action if necessary.
5. Supports local and national marketing initiates.
6. Completes online course work on the University of Subway.
Pre-Requisites:
Education: High school graduate or equivalent college, college degree preferred.
Experience: Three (3) to five (5) years of successful, operational management experience in the quick service restaurant environment. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills. Basic math and accounting skills and strong analytical/decision making skills are needed. Demonstrated achievement in staff selection, coaching and development.
