Sugar and Cotton Traders
Key Responsibilities:
• Cover MEA Cotton/Sugar market
• Identify reliable customers of key commodities in the region
• Market commodities to established and reliable customers in MEA region
• Establish and maintain a range of market contacts
• Maintain a constant awareness of contractual developments and mitigate all risks
• Liaise with Head Office to provide business updates and strategising business development initiatives.
• Extensive knowledge of cotton/sugar products is extremely important
The Successful Applicant:
Will be a highly motivated and driven professional with at least 5-years previous experience in cotton/sugar trading and must have well established contacts with the main fertiliser producers and consumers in Middle East Market ; to be familiar with sourcing of cotton/sugar for global markets as well as for supply of cotton/sugar for the domestic market.
In addition:
• You will be educated to degree level and may also be required to hold industry qualifications related to the position on offer
• A Cotton/Sugar Trader must have excellent analytical skills and be able to process problems and reach conclusions quickly
• Excellent numeracy skills are a key element of this job as well as good communication skills
• A Cotton/Sugar trader is required to be able to work with a high level of accuracy and within tight deadlines
• Trading cotton/sugar requires someone who is able to work within a team, but also has the ability to make decisions in a logical manner
• A Cotton/Sugar Trader job works with Microsoft Office computer software but also other industry software common to the job
• Deep understanding of commodity trading and marketing activities across the region
• Good performance under pressure, commercial drive
• Good understanding of trading dynamics, general commodity and financial market trends
