Responsibilities
- Placement of imported preferential and non-preferential sugars; bulk raws, direct consumption (DC) white sugar.
- Commercialisation of EU internal sugars across the Community market.
- Development of strong long term client relations.
- Support in the negotiation of contracts to agree prices, quality, delivery and specifications.
- Ensure timely execution of contracts and delivery of shipments to customers.
- Evaluation of freights and bookings to establish efficient and reliable shipments.
- Assist with monitoring and analysis of developments of the market environment in the EU markets and also the African and Middle Eastern.
- To take responsibility for your performance and to work together to achieve our organisational goals.
- To comply with any reasonable instruction issued by your Manager.
- Follow relevant international regulatory developments.
- Maintain and develop commercial relations with African, Middle Eastern and EU market clients and refining clients
- Identify opportunities for wider commercialisation and implement overall Group strategy
- Develop wider commercial opportunities within EU white sugar market and the African and Middle Eastern raw sugar market.
Requirements
- Commercial experience in a trading, merchant, or similar role, preferably in the sugar market.
- Established academic credentials.
- Strong commercial acumen, analytical and communication skills.
- Proficiency in English. Another European language desirable.
- Strong emphasis on performance; high standards, goal orientated, and ambitious.
- Appreciation of the long term nature of our business and ability to develop relationships and personal skills accordingly.
- A strong interest in the agricultural commodities industry.
- Regular travel to be expected across the EU and the Middle East and Africa.
