Fellowship Program seeks to attract the best and the brightest first-year Broadcasting/Journalism masters students. Diverse students are encouraged to apply. As a result, it is our hope that students will return to TBS, Inc. in a full-time capacity following graduation. Students will be challenged to think creatively and develop necessary skills to succeed in the news industry. Pay: Students will be paid a rate of $20.00/hour during the three month period of the summer. Relocation Reimbursement Program: Masters Program Fellows residing more than 50 miles from the Turner Broadcasting Systems, Inc. office in which they will be working are eligible to receive an expense allowance (not to exceed $800) to assist in covering the relocation related costs incurred as a result of his or her participation in the internship program. Fellowship Opportunity: CNN International-Margaret Moth Fellowship The Margaret Moth Fellowship is named in memory of one of the first camerawomen to cover international news. Margaret's desire to chase stories around the world no matter how challenging the assignment enabled her to capture some of CNN s most iconic pictures. In the words of one of her colleagues, Margaret truly represented the best of CNN. The Margaret Moth Fellow will get the chance to work on a variety of projects in CNN Atlanta's headquarters. The student will have an opportunity to work alongside CNN International producers, and assignment editors. The fellow will be given direct work experience among journalists in order to improve their qualifications for future employment at CNN. Students must have completed their undergraduate work and be currently enrolled in a masters-level program. A background in Broadcast Journalism, Political Science, Sociology, Film/TV or related field is preferred. Previous experience in a news organization, print or media, also preferred. He/She should have a good attitude, strong work ethic, a creative visual sense, an ability to communicate clearly and concisely, excellent organizational skills, and be able to function well in an environment with short deadlines and quick turnaround projects. He/She should have a general interest in TV production as well as a curious nature and significant enthusiasm for news.
