Sungard GMI SME

The successful candidate will perform the role of GMI SME Business analyst. They will be required to work in a complex environment. Direct clients will be the Operations group, but they will also be working closely with colleagues in LD Front Office and externally with Exchanges, Vendors and other IT groups. The role will be based in London but deliveries could be to any location globally. They will work across platform from Unix/Windows/Oracle through to AS400 with a portfolio of applications. Must be able to understand and contribute to the strategic direction of the group while being pragmatic with the solutions proposed and implemented.
Working with all phases of the development lifecycle. Must be able to deliver medium projects or multiple small projects concurrently.

They will be responsible for the following functions:
• Perform Business analysis and specification of requirements.
• Development and delivery of these requirements
• Work with the Project Manager, architects and other team members to define objectives and benefits of the projects undertaken.
• Provide subject matter expertise to support development testing of project deliverables and validation of quality assurance.
• Participate in and lead work on all aspects of the design phase of projects. Ensure correct capture of requirements and that requirement change is tracked and agreed to. Ensure solutions are defined for all requirements, solutions are agreed to by the business line and other IT teams, options are provided for large or complicated changes and all functional design is documented and delivered to an exceptional quality and is consistent across deliveries.
• Negotiate with the development managers the provision of appropriate resource and to track deliveries into the various testing phases.
• Able to define and contribute to project testing strategy designed to validate deliveries against requirements and ensure Functional requirements are converted into test conditions.
• Provide subject matter expertise to the IT business teams on the market processes and GMI functionality.
• Involvement in the Level 3 Support Rota and the resolution of production issues

SKILLS REQUIRED:
Essential
• Experienced BA (5+ years) and IT experience (3+ years).
• Experienced in Investment Banking.
• Experienced in theVendor GMI application (8+ years).
• Specifically experienced in clearing/settlement of Commodities markets (Power and Energies).
• Self-driven, confident, strategic but pragmatic, good communicator and team player.
Desireable:
Some Project Management experience.
Knowledge of Product Control and Financial Control functions.
Knowledge of ClearVision application.
