Supervisor
The Supervisor - Business Operations in the Commercial Services organization is responsible for the overall success of activities related to high-volume processing of fleet vehicle violations and tolls, including building and maintaining relationships between clients, customers, suppliers (toll violation issuers) and internal departments. Responsible for maintaining operational performance goals, oversight of customer accounts payable; process quality and efficiency; process streamlining and monitoring KPIs.
Regularly monitor and measure business performance and formally report findings to business leaders. Proactively monitor, identify and resolve processing issues, as well as make process improvement recommendations designed to improve transactional quality and/or business profitability.
This position requires a professional, articulate, quick thinking individual with good judgment who applies a comprehensive and in-depth working knowledge of business concepts, policies, practices, processes and procedures in order to resolve client and supplier issues in a timely manner. Qualified candidates will exhibit strong initiative, exceptional problem solving and analytical skills; strong attention to detail and the ability to build solid working relationships internally and externally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leads a team of non-exempt employees; selection and hiring, providing work guidance, motivating, coaching, constructive feedback and informal and formal performance reviews
- Directly manage complex, high-volume supplier (4,000 toll and violation ticket issuers in North America) relationships
- Proactively monitor client’s workflow to ensure that payments are being made accurately. Identify areas of concern and work with internal departments to help resolve issues, implement and monitor solutions
- Analyze operational/process issues and develop diagnostic and/or data tracking tools to measure defects and make recommendations based upon data analysis. Develop ability to forecast results based on trends, patterns, and sequences
- Proposes, communicates, and supports opportunities and solutions for mid to large sized initiatives
Required Knowledge, Skills Abilities:
- BS/BA Degree or work experience equivalent
- 5+ years experience in business-oriented roles of increasing responsibility in operations/accounts payable/process improvement/process excellence or related activities
- 3+ years of leadership experience
- Solid working knowledge of transaction reconciliation, complex problem solving, process controllership and strategic planning
- Excellent computer skills and proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a persuasive and collaborative work style
- Ability to challenge and debate issues of importance to the organization and function successfully in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
- Ability to look at situations from several points of view
Preferred Knowledge, Skills Abilities:
- 3+ years experience in a high-volume, complex accounts payable, transactional processing environment; in a management, process re-engineering or design role
- Experience with Six Sigma or other formal process improvement methodology
- Knowledge of merchant banking processing
