SUpeRVisor, Application Services – INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
As a key member of the Information Technology (IT) department, the Supervisor, Application Services will be responsible for the planning, coordination and implementation of complex projects and support services within the Application Services program. This position will report to the Manager, Information Technology and is located out of our Calgary office.
The Application Services program involves the development and support of business process, software development, package implementation and integration solutions throughout the organization. These applications support key business processes in areas such as work management, procurement, production accounting, oil movements, pipeline and NGL operations, integrity, health and safety, human resources, project development, business development and finance.
This supervisory level position will be a member of IT’s core leadership team, responsible for the project management office and drive the development of project management, application development and support standards and processes.
Key Activities and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for planning, monitoring and implementing complex IT solutions and support services within the Application Services program
- Develop and maintain the service delivery roadmap for Application Services and ensure
- Work with business leaders to assess, manage and prioritize demand for application requests and enhancements
- Develop and assist in the establishment of IT policies, procedures and standards, with focus on project management, application development and support
- Manage and evaluate program/project milestones, scope, resources, priorities, issues, risks, internal and external dependencies to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables
- Responsible for the IT project management office
- Assign personnel to initiatives and direct their activities
- Control expenses and is responsible for meeting budget goals and objectives. Participate in the annual budget planning process.
- Supervisory responsibilities to internal IPF personnel. Review and evaluate work and conduct performance evaluations
Education, Skills and Experience:
- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- 12+ years of Information Technology experience
- Demonstrated experience and proven track record of delivering IT programs and support services
- Strong background with application support and project management processes and a competency in understanding technology, platforms and packaged solutions
- Experience with application design, strategies, best practices and trends related to solutions design and delivery. Exposure to multiple software development methodologies is an asset.
- Experience in continuous improvement methods, and analyzing and improving technology standards
- Experience in dealing with vendors in negotiation and acquisition of software and services
- Strong leadership and change management skills with the ability to build relationships with business partners, vendors and IT teams
- Experience in establishing, managing and motivating multi-faceted technical teams
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Excellent customer service, interpersonal and collaboration skills
