Supervisor Credentialing

The Supervisor of Credentialing is responsible for all activities associated with credentialing or re-credentialing physicians and providers. Includes processing provider applications and re-applications including initial mailing, review, and loading into the database tracking system ensuring high quality standards are maintained. Supervisors of Credentialing will oversee the conducting of audits and provide feedback to reduce errors and improve processes and performance. Other responsibilities include the development of credentialing policies and procedures, and may oversee primary source verification activities.
 
In this role you will be expected to:
- Own output at task level.
- Work is generally limited to own function.
- Set priorities for the team to ensure task completion.
- Coordinate work activities with other supervisors.
- Develop plans to meet short-term objectives.
- Identify and resolve operational problems using defined processes, expertise and judgment.
- Decisions are guided by policies, procedures and business plan.
- Product, service or process decisions are most likely to impact individual employees and/or customers (internal or external).

Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree preferred
- 5+ years of Medical Staff Department experience in a large ambulatory medical group or hospital including
- 2+ years supervisory experience.
- 5+ years of experience with credentialing/recredentialing and/or privileging in the healthcare industry.
- 3+ years of experience with healthcare accreditation and regulatory standards including NCQA requirements.
- Must be willing to become licensed Notary Public.
- Must demonstrate the ability to supervise all aspects of the Medical Staff Department procedures, including state and federal laws and regulations applicable to the operating unit.
- Must have the ability to supervise, perform, and prioritize multiple projects
- Must show attention to detail and be capable of taking responsibility for completion of assigned projects with deadlines.
- At least an intermediate level of proficiency in performing research.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to develop correspondence to facilities and clinicians.
- At least an intermediate level of proficiency with MS Excel, Access, and Word.
