SUPERVISOR TELECONTROL CONSTRUCTION TRANSMISSION PROJECTS

Job Description AECOM is looking to recruit multiple Supervisor Telecontrol Construction Transmission professionals for an anticipated transmission and distribution project in the Province of Alberta. These are regular full time opportunities and relocation assistance is available. Reporting to the Construction Manager, the Supervisor of Telecontrol is responsible for implementing planned capital cost work, including managing the coordination, inspection and quality control of contract and company crews. Responsibilities to include: ï?· Preparation of project work plan. ï?· Ensure safe work practices, quality assurance, and quality control of contractors work in accordance with contract specification and Alberta Safety Codes. ï?· Holding start-up and orientation meetings with contractors and workers. ï?· Coordinating various work groups, and communication with other department groups regarding project scope, scheduling and other project related information. ï?· Issuing weekly reports on project status to the Project Manager. ï?· Preparation of written technical specifications for civil site scope of work. ï?· Review technical specifications for tender documents, evaluate tenders and prepare recommendations for contractor/ vendor selections. ï?· Review and recommend contractor selection, attend the document site visits with contractors. ï?· Establish good working relationships with multi-discipline project team members, contractors, and any others that have an effect on the quality, schedule and cost of projects. ï?· Monitor the construction and commissioning of all projects for scope changes and report daily on changes that can impact the project cost or schedule, issue change orders within level of authority or escalate to quickly address. ï?· Monitor the construction and commissioning of all projects for schedule changes and track progress on a daily basis identifying any issues that could delay the schedule, provide advice on course of action to maintain the schedule within authority levels or escalate to quickly address. ï?· Monitor and audit construction documentation to ensure that the facilities are being constructed to meet the quality specifications in the contract. Qualifications to include: ï?· A related technologist diploma from a recognized institute. ï?· 7 years previous telecontrol maintenance experience including supervisory and leadership experience. ï?· Knowledge of health, safety and environmental management practices. ï?· Superior interpersonal and communication skills. ï?· Effective planning and organization skills. ï?· Supervisory training and experience in directing the work of staff and contractors and managing change. ï?· Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision making capability. ï?· All applicable Authorizations including a valid operator's license.
