Supervisory Park Ranger Protection

DUTIES: Serves as a Type 1 Law Enforcement Commissioned Ranger responsible for enforcement of criminal laws of the United States through the investigation, apprehension, and detention of individuals suspected or convicted of committing criminal offenses. Prepares cases for presentation before the U.S. Magistrate or District Court, and consults with the County or U.S. Attorney's office. Manages border security operations and coordinates surveillance and enforcement of customs and border security along the 55 mile U.S. and Canadian border with the Great Lakes Interagency Border Enforcement Team. Monitors use and occupancy reservations; ensures compliance of special use permit, tourboat concession and commercial use authorization holders. Carries out district wide responsibilities related to emergency services, law enforcement, land management, ARPA, commercial use, maintenance, cultural and natural resources, and visitor services through the use of boats, snowmobile, off road vehicle or aircraft. Manages the parkwide risk management program as the park safety officer.
