Supplier / Contract Risk & Compliance Specialist recruitment
Supply Demand Management (SDM) is a shared service and global competence center responsible for directing and controlling all supply management activities for the entire bank across all regions, divisions and commodities. SDM also oversees and coordinates group-wide activities in the area of cost management.
The Procurement function within SDM is responsible for establishing the strategy and managing core operational processes that support the effective procurement and optimization of UBS’ significant third party spend.
Reporting to the Supplier Risk Relationship Regional (APAC) Manager, this role will be part of a team responsible for the end-to-end delivery of the Contract Management Governance (CMG) Process with outsourcing suppliers to UBS globally.
This role involves working closely with supplier compliance teams, and internal control group and business stakeholders on risk and compliance related initiatives with suppliers. As part of a quarterly review cycle the role will involve information gathering, analysis and reporting relating to supplier contract compliance and control assurance audits.
As part of the Supplier Risk Relationship Management team, the role will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to work as part of a global team with the possibility of career progression either within Supply Demand Management or other UBS risk and control functions.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Taking ownership and managing (including planning, coordinating, tracking and reporting) parts or the entire supplier audit process to deliver high quality output within defined timelines.
- Managing relationships with internal control groups to ensure the scope of audit and compliance requirements are continuously updated in line with changes to supplier contractual terms and UBS policies and standards
- Working closely with internal control groups and business partners on specific risk and compliance related change projects
- Managing relationships with supplier compliance teams to ensure consistent, quality and timely responses in data gathering and issue remediation
- Analyzing supplier audit data gathered through both self-assessment and site audits, investigating inconsistencies and/or trends related to supplier compliance
- Analyzing supplier issues and impact to determine the need for escalation to relevant stakeholder group, anticipating potential issues and developing action plans to mitigate or avoid identified issues
- Developing and communicating supplier compliance reporting, ensuring a high quality in terms of completeness, relevance and accuracy
- Tracking and reporting on the progress of action items and issues remediation, maintaining a central knowledge management repository
- Representing Supplier Risk Relationship Management team and SDM in cross-functional forums/ initiatives
- Work with peers to develop and embed robust continuous improvement mindset and culture within Supplier Risk Relationship Management team, Procurement and across SDM.
Our ideal candidate will have the following requisites:
- Experience or knowledge of contract/ regulatory compliance, supplier management, risk management, audit/ assurance related disciplines is preferred
- Proven prior experience in data analytics, high level of numeracy and attention to detail
- Self-starter with ability to take ownership and work independently to achieve individual deliverables, while also adaptable in working within a team in a collaborative manner to drive team deliverables
- Strong initiative and business/common sense in analysis, decision making, issue resolution and escalation
- Strong organizational skills with proven ability to manage multiple deliverables and deadlines, prioritize assignments, drive action plans to timely completion or meet deadlines
- Critical thinking and problem solving experience required, with ability to challenge existing practices
- Demonstrated partnering skills, including success in influencing outside of direct reporting line
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Powerpoint are mandatory); experience with data aggregation, modeling and analysis.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills with a focus on informing and influencing and relationship building, and confidence in interfacing with members of management, cross-functional and/or cross-border teams
- BS or BA degree in, Business Administration, Finance, Information Technology or equivalent.
