Job DESCRIPTION

Hamilton Sundstrand is among the largest global suppliers of technologically advanced aerospace and industrial products. We design and manufacture aerospace systems for commercial, regional, corporate and military aircraft and are a major supplier for international space programs. Our industrial products serve industries ranging from hydrocarbon, chemical and food processing to construction and mining.

The ideal candidate will lead a team of several Electronics and Distributed Products Supplier Development Engineers to drive focused actions leading to the systemic improvement of all Electronics and Distributed Products suppliers. The team is responsible for investigating technical issues with products that are often developed from Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) parts, so familiarity with this commodity is a critical to success in this role.

The candidate will be measured on the Electronics and Distributed Products suppliers' overall quality performance, as well as the management of driving closure of targeted action items on schedule.

This person will also lead the Corrective Action Board (CAB) for the Electronics and Distributed Products commodities and be a key figure in the strategic planning and execution of the product development plan for new programs, as well as any product transition activity. The candidate must be a team player, as he/she will interface with the Electronics and Distributed Products Commodity managers to achieve team goals.

B.S. or M.S Electrical Engineering. A background in Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, PPAP, and Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) is a major plus.

10+ years of experience with a strong electronics background. Knowledge of Hamilton Sundstrand systems is preferred. The ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment is imperative. Experience with the elements of PPAP (PFMEA, Process Certification, etc.) preferred. Strong communication and organization skills are needed, as this candidate will interface regularly with HS executives, supplier executives, and key customer interfaces. Experience with electronics component testing is key.

Knowledge in leading DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control) type projects, implementing SPC process control systems, manufacturing processes reviews, and design of experiments. Auditing skill is a plus, along with familiarity with AS9100 and AS9102 requirements.
