Position Description

This position is for a person to reside in North Eastern Massachusetts area, working as a virtual employee, and may require extensive travel supporting on site at suppliers in the geographic areas of Massachusetts, Connecticut and New Hampshire. The specific location and supplier assignments of the position will be determined after the hiring process has concluded.

Major tasks include: Verifying products for compliance with applicable requirements using approved methods, such as first article inspection, source inspection and acceptance, reviewing of testing results etc., and documenting results as required;

Planning, organizing and conducting audits of supplier's systems, processes and products to determine compliance with contractual requirements; Documenting and reporting audit results as required; Evaluating supplier root cause analysis and proposed corrective actions plans; Follow-up on audit results to ensure closure; Providing education and coaching on quality systems, regulatory compliance issues and company Initiatives to develop and improve supplier performance and productivity; Assisting with assessments including evaluating supplier capability and capacity to perform current or potential future work.

Provide coaching on quality management systems and technical expertise on specific manufacturing processes, specially related to electronics manufacturing; Monitoring and interpreting supplier quality related activities, including performance ratings, sub-tier supplier performance, etc., to verify quality system, product and contractual compliance; Assisting with investigation and resolution of concerns to ensure compliance with requirements; Interpreting status of supplier performance with respect to quality, delivery, work in process, systemic issues, program impacts, etc., to determine needed actions; Ensuring supplier notifications of quality escapes are processed as required; Acting as focal to resolve routine issues and concerns involving suppliers and company organizations; Interpreting Boeing requirements and Specifications; Attending meetings and reviews involving suppliers and company organizations.

Typical Education/Experience

Other Job related information

An ability to obtain an interim and/or final clearance (post-start) is required for this position - US Citizenship Required or equivalent. Candidate to have working knowledge of the requirements and inspection skills for IPC-A-610, J-STD-001. Experience with Space and Satellite requirements, microscope inspection of micro circuits, electronic assemblies for space applications per MIL-STD-883, and familiarity with NASA specifications as they pertain to microelectronic assembly is desirable. Frequent microscope inspection activity is expected in the duties of this position.
