We are currently looking for a SUPPLY CHAIN ASSISTANT to join our team

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Responsibilities include:

Shipping:

·         Support various departments in their shipping needs.

·         Prepare items for shipping by properly packaging and labeling them. Items for shipment include our products, raw materials, and documents among others.

·         Process shipments of materials and samples domestically and internationally using the correct system, i.e. UPS, Fed-Ex or Common carrier.

·         Document information about shipments in the company’s tracking system.

·         Track delivery of shipments to the recipient party and follow up to resolve issues if necessary.

 

 

Receiving:

·         Receive and distribute all inbound materials in a timely matter.

·         Properly and accurately count materials received.

·         Confirm and record the receipt of shipments.

·         Complete shipping and receiving reports in the tracking system.

·         Report damages and discrepancies to accounting.

 

 

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Support the Director of Operations in equipment maintenance and facilities matters.

·         Manage the inter-departmental transport of materials.

·         Support departments in other shipping and receiving activities as required.

·         Work to become familiar with a variety of shipping and receiving concepts, practices, and procedures.

·         Perform other related duties as assigned.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

·         The successful candidate must be legally entitled to work in the US.  A plus if candidate has an Associate Degree or 2 – 5 years’ work experience in the area of shipping and receiving, and interest or background in science, or biology.

 

 

In addition, the individual should:

·         Be able to read, write, and communicate fluently in English.

·         Possess strong communication skills: oral, written, email and phone.

·         Have high attention to detail.

·          

·         Be able to demonstrate strong computer skills, including excel and word.

·         Be capable of handling multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously

·         Be able to stand for long periods of time.

·         Be capable of pushing, pulling and lifting various sized boxes.

·         Be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

·         Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment.

COMPENSATION:

The salary range is competitive. In addition, this position is eligible for an annual bonus plan.
