Position Description:

Directs and manages all supply chain functions including raw material purchasing, consignment management of materials, and logistics of materials for the business. Focus includes but is not limited to strategies, policies, procedures, and operations that ensure an uninterrupted supply of materials and services to manufacturing areas at optimum cost and within the guidelines established by management. Incumbent also manages and negotiates service contracts, vendor bids, and all other non raw materials purchases to maximize site purchasing power and profitability.

Requirements:
•Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
•Outstanding leadership, communication (oral and written), presentation, training, team facilitation, and interpersonal capability, combined with an ability to work cross functionally throughout all levels/divisions of the organization.
•Ability to develop measures, plan and strategize work, facilitate effective meetings, identify organizational needs, and manage multiple projects.
•Self-directed, team player with sound negotiation and problem solving skills.
•Proven understanding of business practices and precedents.
•Hands-on knowledge of professional PC software such as MS Office, Project and Visio, and Six-Sigma/statistical software such as Minitab/JMP a plus.

Qualifications:

•Receives general supervision from the plant manager but operates on his/her own initiative.
•Ensures compliance with Saint-Gobain procurement procedures and other contract obligations. Also ensures that purchasing business practices are compliant with Saint-Gobain rules and state/federal laws.
•Manages agreements with vendors on consignment of raw materials, stocking levels, days, and terms which positively affect site and business cash flow.
•Assist business unit leadership in the planning development, coordination, support, and execution of high impact (immediate and long term) improvement plans for effective and sustainable cost saving initiatives while making sure the critical material supply is aligned with customer focused metrics.
•In addition to frequent verbal reports, submit weekly and monthly written reports as required.
•Heavy focus on planning, control, and coordination in the organization to lead process and improvement projects around job function.
•Abide by the company policies and business practices at appropriate level.
•Exhibits and assures company conformance to safety awareness and safe work practices.
•Change agent or thought leader that leads initiatives that will enable the organization to reach the next level of world class operations by implementing Lean Six Sigma practices throughout the supply chain function.
•Perform other related duties as may be reasonably assigned in the course of business.
