General Summary:
The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for managing materials planning, scheduling, ordering, warehousing, shipping and receiving activities to support manufacturing activities and to optimize asset utilization, cost, customer service and efficiency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for developing metrics to benchmark and track key performance indicators in supplier management, inventory management and related efficiencies
- PLANNING
- Works with Sales, Operations and Finance to develop a Master Production Schedule that optimizes asset utilization, cost, customer service and efficiencies
- Purchases, manages and tracks inventory levels of raw materials. Proactively monitors and reports on out-of-stock items and at-risk items
- Owns Epicor, the ERP system. Responsible for ensuring data accuracy and for maximizing the use and value of system. Continually drives improvements in the system and integration into the manufacturing process
- PURCHASING/SUPPLIER MANAGEMENT
- Develop a sourcing strategy that minimizes both cost and risk to the organization
- Negotiate, implement, and maintain strategic supply agreements as required including non-disclosure, intellectual property and other agreements to ensure effective relationships with a base of critical and key suppliers
- Assists and leads buyers in Supplier Management. Responsible for Suppliers on time delivery, quality and cost as defined in company objectives
- Lead MRB disposition along with Quality, Engineering and Operations departments
- WAREHOUSE
- Manages inventory performance by reviewing inputs (Sales/inventory/operations plan, physical inventory count, profit planning) and controls (min/max levels, lead times, etc.) of the ordering process to ensure that inventory levels meet corporate expectations
- SHIPPING/RECIVING
- Optimize order quantities to drive savings in freight, warehouse and carrying costs
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises employees and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this position:
· Thorough understanding of Supply Chain Management operational concepts surrounding production planning, inventory control, purchasing, logistics, warehouse operations and shipping/receiving
· Analytical skills – Ability to assemble financial data and perform higher level analysis (IRR, NPV, etc.)
· Strong communication, customer service and interpersonal skills necessary to converse with a diverse group of stakeholders
· Experience with Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning
· Strong negotiation skills
Education and/or Experience:
- Undergraduate degree in business management, supply chain management or related discipline is required. A Master of Business Administration degree is desirable.
- 2-5 years experience in supply chain management or related field, preferably in a manufacturing environment
Language Skills:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Computer Skills:
- Basic PC (non-programming) skills
- Intermediate MS Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Experience with MRP/ERP systems, preferably Epicor
Physical Demands:
- Sitting, 6+ hours per work day
- Standing, less than 2 hours per work day
Work Environment:
- Office environment

- Infrequent
