Supply Chain Trainee

Position Summary: The Supply Chain Trainee is responsible for assisting in product-planning strategies that will ensure efficient throughput, maximize inventory utilization at all levels, satisfy customer demand, and maximize return on assets. Scope/Supervision and Interaction: Works independent, with moderate direction, reporting to the Filtration Group VP of Supply Chain. Interfaces routinely with all plant and division functions including engineering, manufacturing, and sales/marketing along with customers and suppliers. Essential Functions: - Train and assist in supplier relationships including development and monitoring of supplier performance criteria, supplier development/certification initiatives, conduction of business reviews, etc. - Train and assist in the development and implementation of transportation programs relating to procurement, supplier inventory and distribution of manufactured products. - Train and assist to ensure performance to a production schedule to achieve objectives for customer service, inventory levels, and configuration management. - Train and assist with inventory management systems such as Kanban systems. - Train and assist to ensure timely acquisitions of product or service from known sources of supply. - Additionally, may resolve issues in the areas of requisition accuracy and completeness, on-time delivery or supplier payment. Qualifications: - Senior status working toward a degree in Supply Chain Management. - GPA of 3.0 or higher. - Previous internship or co-op in the supply chain field. - Good interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. - Proficient in personal computer skills and associated software (see below). - Superior follow-up and organizational skills. - Proficient in Microsoft Office products. - Spring or Summer 2012 Graduate. - Must be a U.S. Citizen. - Must be able to relocate.
