Detailed Description Responsible for receiving and put-away of supplies in the Main Storeroom, as well as picking and distribution of supplies to all departments. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 1. Performs cycle counts to validate the perpetual inventory system, adjustments to the on-hand inventory balance are entered using the computer when discrepancies are found. Supplies to be put in correct location and stock rotated. 2. Proactively anticipates supply needs in storage locations and notifies Supply Distribution Manager of low stock or out of stock items as they are identified. Coordinates with Supply Distribution Manager and Purchasing Buyer to find alternate supplies for low stock or out of stock items. 3. Orders supplies for all PAR Excellence locations. Maintains appropriate par levels, monitors usage, replenishes stock and maintains labeling system. 4. Coordinates with Supply Distribution Manager to obtain supplies required by departments. Fills and delivers stat orders promptly as requested. 5. Performs all departmental procedures relating to requisitioning, receiving, shipping, picking and delivery of materials and equipment. 6. Checks all supplies for expiration dates monthly. Removes recalled products from all assigned inventory locations. 7. Records all issues, receipts and returns using the current automated inventory systems. 8. Maintains storeroom in a neat and orderly manner. Keeps aisles clear for emergency passage. 9. Maintains confidentiality of protected health information. 10. Applies asset tag numbers to new equipment, furniture etc. and records this data appropriately. 11. Maintains Disaster cart supplies by cleaning, checking for outdates and verifying that all supplies are available monthly. 12. Responsible for inventorying and issuing patient charges for Specialty Cart supplies. SUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 1. Follows hospital policies and procedures in the receiving and handling of hazardous goods and materials. 2. Treats departmental staff, employees, visitors, and patients in a professional and courteous manner. 3. Performs additional duties as directed. Job Requirements STRENGTH REQUIREMENT: Occasionally exerting up to 50 pounds of force and/or frequently exerting a small amount of force to lift, carry, push, pull and move stock items and equipment. May require walking or standing for extended periods of time. TYPE OF PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Acuity, near Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less. Handling Seizing, holding, grasping, turning, picking, pinching or otherwise working with hands and fingers. Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. Communication Expressing or exchanging ideas by verbal and nonverbal means. Hearing Listening skills required to obtain verbal communication as well awareness of environmental sounds. QUALIFICATIONS 1. EDUCATION FORMAL TRAINING: High School Diploma or equivalent. B. WORK EXPERIENCE: Prefer experience in healthcare supply distribution, but not required. C. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES: ?Knowledge of hospital supplies and equipment. ?Moderate computer skills. Ability to learn new systems such as Microsoft Office, Meditech MMIS, PAR Excellence. ?Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to resolve conflict, facilitate change and maintain positive morale. ?Positively respond to process changes. ?Manage and prioritize work in order to meet short deadlines. ?Schedule workload in order to be sure items are delivered to departments when required. ?Improvise when emergency or extraordinary situations arise. ?Serve as a resource for other departments for supply questions and issues. ?Use quick thinking to problem solve. ?Communicate with supervisor, coworkers, peers and other members of the department regarding work related issues. ?Be punctual and participate in department meetings. Additional Details EQUIPMENT, TOOLS AND WORK AIDS: General office equipment, personal computer, Microsoft Office, Meditech MMIS, PAR Excellence Supply system, pallet moving equipment, cardboard box compactor, dock doors, carts lifts. WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARDS: Indoor workplace conditions. Hazardous materials are handled according to hospital procedures. Minor temperature fluctuations, regular hours, frequent bending, stooping, reaching, walking and standing.
