Supply Planner (12 month maternity cover contract)

Job Description

What you’ll do

The role of the Supply Planner is to plan inventory against forecast to deliver customer service, cost and inventory targets.

How you’ll do it

·         Utilise sales forecast from demand planning team to plan inventory to maintain target stock covers.  Deliver customer service targets whilst minimising excess stock exposure and air freight.

·         Expedite and de-expedite inventory to meet evolving business plans.  Identify excess stock and drive plans to liquidate.

·         Identify opportunities to improve service and inventory KPIs, implement improvement plans and track results

·         Participate in the EMEA SOP (Sales and Operations Planning) process

·         To ensure cross-functional alignment and to drive improvement in forecast error.  Specifically to bring the service and inventory KPI update to the Product Code review, to support delivery of incremental opportunities and to quantify risks from supply constraints.

·         Communicate proactively to Sales, Product Management, Finance, Demand Planning and other teams on both potential stock shortages and excess stock risk.

·         “Go the extra mile” to ensure that customer service is maintained.

·         Educate others on good Supply Chain planning and best practice

·         Contribute to improving the EMEA Supply Chain process and systems

·         Identify opportunities to improve the Supply Chain processes and systems.  Work with global colleagues to deliver improvements.

 

What you’ll need

You will have a solid understanding of Supply Chain processes and systems within a European business. FMCG experience or experience of sourcing from Far East vendors would be advantageous. You will be able to demonstrate a track record of identifying process improvements, managing change and delivering quantifiable improvements in KPIs. We require someone with strong experience of a dynamic, high SKU count consumer business who has a proactive and “hands-on” style with excellent communication skills.
