Supply Technician

Note: There may be more than one position and the work could be part time or full time.

Upon successful contract award, this position would support the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Keyport, Washington. This position is governed by the Service Contract Act (SCA) and is classified as non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

This position performs technical supply management work (e.g., inventory management, storage management, cataloging, and property utilization) related to depot supply activities. The successful candidate(s) will support Depot operations, research and identify required resources/materials and generate reports/metrics needed by the Government production support personnel. Functions supported will include Planning and Production Control, Logistics and Material Support, Progressing, Scheduling, and Information Systems and Technical Support. Tasks include research of obsolescent parts and material, research component availability, conduct market research, generate and track requisitions, track shipments and verify receipt, induct material into Depot repair processes, prepare, package and expedite material, prepare shipping documents, maintain calibration data base, stage and verify repair kits for production shops. The successful candidate(s) will have a good working knowledge of the governing Navy supply systems, programs, policies, nomenclature, work methods, manuals, or other established guidelines; (b) an understanding of the needs of the NUWC Keyport organization and (c) analytical ability to define or recognize the dimension of the problems involved, to collect the necessary data to establish the facts, and take or recommend action based upon application or interpretation of established guidelines.

Required Skills:
1. Exclusive US Citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret clearance immediately upon hiring. Failure to obtain some form of Secret clearance upon hiring will result in immediate termination.

2. Education required: High School diploma/GED with 7 years of related experience

3. Knowledge of and working experience with the Navy Supply Systems regarding requisitioning, tracking, expediting, shipping and status

4. Demonstrated ability to understand and perform IAW detailed written procedures

5. Ability to lift, handle and carry up to 50 pounds

6. Experience using MS Office Suite/MS Outlook and other computer based applicationsPreferred Skills:
1. Experience with obsolescence research relating to materials, parts and sources

2. Knowledge of required support for Torpedo Depot production processes

3. Knowledge of the Shop Workload Management System (SWMS) program

4. Hazardous material handling training and experience

5. Demonstrated Ability to communicate and consult effectively with Shop and Support personnel

6. Demonstrated performance as an effective member of a successful team.

7. Knowledge and hands on experience with MS Excel/Access programs and databases
