Department Summary:
The role of the team is twofold firstly to support the business on a day to day basis in resolving issues in the production of client reporting and secondly to aid in the development of systems and processes to improve the efficiency of the department, and to implement product development. Support covers Fund Accounting, Unit Pricing, Financial Reporting and Taxation Services. The focus of the group is on the business operations, and we work closely with WSS Technology who provide the technology expertise and develop the systems. We also work closely with the Transaction Management team to ensure the process flow between the departments work as efficiently as possible.
The other important function of the group is to provide support to business users on the current systems: HiPortfolio - Investment system, PATAN, PATools, Webfocus, General ledger and Unit pricing and associated applications.
Position Summary:
The successful applicant will be a key member of the BA team who support the WSS Australia Operations business.
Responsible for providing support on daily month end queries, project management, process improvement, system testing and business user support on various systems.
Key Accountabilities/Major Responsibilities:
Support
- Provide support on daily and month end queries and issues.
- Proactively contribute to improve system resilience and automated monitoring and alerting
- Short projects - from user request, analysis, design, programming and unit test using an appropriate methodology
- System Testing, including formal test plan
Project Management
- Responsibility for managing projects or sub-projects, including planning, specification, tracking, testing and implementation.
Process Improvements
- Review and document current business processes, complete analysis on current processes, recommend and assist with the develop and testing of process improvements. Implement these process improvements into the business.
Skills
Knowledge and Experience Required:
- A good understanding of the custody business, especially funds administration including processes and workflows.
- Solid accounting and financial accounting knowledge.
- Strong Leadership Skills
- Good communication skills - both verbal written.
- Good computing skills (excel, Visio, VBA, SQL)
Formal Qualifications:
- No specific formal qualifications are necessary; however attainment of academic qualification demonstrates commitment to continuous learning and development. Relevant qualifications would therefore include a finance or IT related degree.
