Job Summary:
We are looking for a Surety Claims Counsel candidate to handle Surety matters in the Southeastern U.S. by investigating and resolving performance and payment bond claims.
The ideal candidate will analyze claims, negotiate settlements, manages project completion, and manage contract funds.
This person will also supervise outside counsel, consultants, and accountants.
Past Surety (contract and commercial) experience is a must.
Employee can work from any location in the Texas, Louisiana or Florida regions.
Job Qualifications:
Juris Doctorate required
8 or more years of related Surety experience.
Excellent written, verbal and computer skills.
1. In-depth knowledge of the Surety industry, claims, and the Surety legal and regulatory environment.
2. Possesses a functional and developing knowledge of the legal statutes and procedures.
3. Displays a thorough functional knowledge and skill of claims handling specific to assigned area i.e Surety
