We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic surface land agent for our Surface Land group.
Surface Land Agent
The Surface Land Agent provides land related support and guidance to Inter Pipeline Fund’s (IPF’s) new construction projects as well as integrity, environment and maintenance projects as required by the various disciplines. The role also provides support to the day to day operations activities. This position will report to the Supervisor, Land.
Key Activities and Responsibilities:
· Work with Engineering, Operations, Integrity, Environment and other internal groups to coordinate the surveying and acquisition of land rights.
· Provide support and guidance to the Land Administration team to ensure land projects are carried out to completion and that the files are set up and maintained within the land system.
· Ensure projects comply with regulations and adhere to industry best practices.
· Prepare acquisition documentation and acquire land rights on projects.
· Work closely with outside consultants to ensure accuracy and timeliness of established scope of work.
· Respond to field, landowner, other stakeholders, industry, and office requests as required.
· Settle damage issues.
· Conduct annual rent reviews of IPF leases.
Experience, Education and Skills:
- Minimum of 5 years direct surface land experience in the oil and gas industry.
- A background in surface land negotiations and acquisition is essential.
- A valid land agent license is required.
- A valid Alberta Driver’s License is required.
- Strong working knowledge of surface land processes and regulations.
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Good interpersonal skills, strong initiative and superior attention to detail.
- Agricultural background is an asset.
