- Responsible for performing second assist functions for surgical intervention, preparing supplies and equipment, preparing specimens for lab and requesting exams as required. Transporting patients, maintaining and sterilizing equipment, assisting with O/R set-up. Qualifications include knowledge of anatomical structures and terminology, sterile processing techniques and operation of autoclave machine. Must have good manual dexterity and visual acuity, ability stand for prolonged periods of time and to bend, stoop and kneel with difficulty. Must have high school diploma or equivalent. Must have completed a technician training course with minimum of 6 months to 1 year of related experience as a surgical tech. Experience in Orthopedics, general, GYN and vascular surgery required.
