Sustainability Manager
Sustainability Manager supports development and execution of business strategies, including new growth opportunities, to improve net operating income, drive long-term asset value creation and reduce the environmental footprint of our European portfolio of real estate assets. Support for marketing and outreach initiatives will also be required.
Essential responsibilities:
• Manage finalization, user testing and roll out of GECRE’s energy and CO2 measure track tool, working with the HQ IT team and each platform asset management team.
• Assist HQ and each platform asset management team in compilation and communication of GECRE sustainability track record for employees, tenants and investors.
• Assist with identification and piloting of new growth opportunities including overall strategy from idea to deployment
• Support asset management teams in execution of major refurbishments including opportunities to develop and incorporate GE products and services
• Partner with asset managers to consider and incorporate sustainable strategies into asset-level business plan or proposed upgrades and modifications
• Support development of guidelines and tools to operationalize sustainability across the business including investment management, risk underwriting and asset management
• Communicate project status and make recommendations for changes or improvements
• Influence change at all levels of the organization including sharing of best practices across platforms
Qualifications/Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree (or international equivalent) with 5+ years of marketing, commercial real estate, and/or business experience
• Experience applying strategic vision to improving the performance of commercial real estate assets
• Understanding of the fundamentals of operating commercial real estate assets
• Full proficiency with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Ability to influence multiple stakeholders
• Ability to work as a team player
• Fluency/strong language skills in English
• Willingness to travel and flexibility to meet deadlines
Desired Characteristics:
• 2+ years of experience in energy or sustainability
• Bachelor’s Degree (or international equivalent) in a business or environmental science discipline
• Experience implementing sustainability initiatives within the commercial real estate sector
• Familiarity with GE’s ecomagination program
• Strong language skills in French and/or other European languages would be viewed as favorable
