Sustainable Finance Manager recruitment

Key Roles Responsibilities

1. Advise the Wholesale Bank on applying the position statements to clients and transactions. This involves liaising with business teams in Client Coverage, Principal Finance, Corporate Finance and Credit Risk.

2. Advise on transactions to ensure compliance with the Equator Principles. This involves review of environmental and social impact assessments, defining the Bank’s requirements to the sponsors and supporting the business teams in the role of the environmental bank.

4. Support the governance processes, by articulating the bank’s position on emerging risks, high risk industries, and prominent reputational risk issues.

5. Contribute to reporting requirements on the application of sustainability e.g. input in the Sustainability Review, the Sustainable Finance intranet site and other communication means as appropriate, to promote the bank’s approach to sustainability.

6. Providing input to the Sustainability Training Programme . The training programme includes a e-learning course, a module in the mainstream credit risk training course on sustainable finance, and a one day classroom training course on environmental and social risks.

1. Ability to think conceptually, combined with practical problem solving

2. Ability to develop effective and trusted relationships, working in partnership with all stakeholders in the businesses

3. Results-orientated, with the ability to follow-through

Knowledge:

1. Environmental and Social risks and sustainability in the business context

2. transactions management, bank’s approval processes, and credit risk management are a definite advantage

3. high level understanding of the variety of products offered

4. Experience of operating in a matrix-based management structure

Skills:

1. Good consultancy skills – identification of issues, root cause, ability to problem-solve and make recommendations

2. Project management and good time keeping

3. Good facilitation and listening skills

4. Good written and oral communication skills. Ability to influence and confidently chair working group-type discussions

5. Delivery focused

6. People skills
