Senior Java Developer/ Build Manager
Location: Singapore
Salary: SGD$220,000 circa + bonus/benefits
A Leading Investment bank is looking for a Senior Java/Team lead to join their cash management team. A Managerial position with duties including supervising the day-to-day work of the team members, running scrums and helping the junior members of the team. You will work with business and IT leadership to understand IT business strategies and their implication to application(s) and manage development and implementation of enhancements/changes; oversee installations and Release Management including the final production acceptance review; manage the issue resolution process for any application production problems; and oversee Operations Monitoring and Capacity Management. Architecture capabilities as well as strong Core Java skills are important as the successful candidate will be communicating with other team leaders/ project managers interpreting and refining requirements as needed. A great combination of hands on developing and team leading is involved in the role so the candidate must be an all round technician who has the ability not only to lead a team but also a highly skilled Core Java Developer.
Requirements/ Responsibilities for Senior Java Developer/ Build Manager- Leading Investment Bank- Singapore
- Strong Core Java capabilities and architecture capabilities
- Financial experience is required, ideally in cash management/settlements/ payments/nostro management/funding/reconciliation
- Understanding the business processes, participating in process modeling and design workshops, identifying opportunities for process improvement in working with process analysts and the business users.
- Develop software using Core Java, J2EE (JSF, SEAM, JMS, Spring, etc.), RDBMS (SQL, Oracle, JDBC, Hibernate), LDAP, XML (JAXB, SAX, etc.), CMS (Documentum), and Unix (Solaris, Linux)
- Scripting skills (Unix, Shell, Perl, Groovy)
- Database Design including good knowledge of SQL
- Distribute work to other team members, conduct code reviews and help them in resolving problems they encounter.
- Mentor junior team members as needed.
- Experience implementing quality guidelines, standards and procedures.

The ideal candidate will have strong Core Java and architecture capabilities. The candidate must come from a strong financial background (ideally cash management) with extensive experience within a leadership role, either as team lead or project manager. To be considered for this role your background should include development life cycle experience in systems and applications management including systems/application design, development and leadership, Strategic thinking and ability to think outside of the box. Additional experience with 3rd party packaged applications with strong vendor relationship building is a plus. This role will be 50% hands on so strong Java and system architecture skills are important.
