Job Description: Sr. Software Engineer I, Configuration Management

Position requires performing Software Configuration Management (SW CM) tasking to include use of SW CM tools for configuration identification, configuration control, configuration status accounting, configuration verification and audits, product release and delivery, and preparing and executing software compiles builds and deployments. Identify problems and provide solutions to a variety of CM technical problems.

Everyday responsibilities range from establishing and maintaining the program's CM systems, including the program's document and software libraries, developing scripts to supporting software build cycles, providing CM support to development team and Program Management, developing, improving and training the program CM processes and interfacing with other engineering disciplines to provide solutions to a variety of technical problems. Position requires great attention to detail with respect to managing software development environments and program libraries, understanding of software processes and strong presentation skills. Ability to develop and maintain SW CM tools using such languages as: Perl, shell scripting, C++ and Java. Awareness of ISO/AS9100 or CMMI CM standards.

Requires communicating CM status to CM Management and Program Management. Experience with Solaris OS, eGit, Subversion, and/or ClearCase administration for a Windows or Unix platform, process development/improvement. Experience working independently while able to support team goals and communicate program activities.

Required Skills:
- Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Science or a related science or engineering field.
- Minimum 4 years experience with software configuration management with the ability to perform build management (compiling, linking), release management (capturing and installing software baselines).
- 4+ years experience coding using such languages as: Perl, shell scripting, C++ or Java
- 4+ years experience administering SW CM tools such as Rational Clearcase and ClearQuest, eGit, Subversion
- Experience working in a Software or Hardware development team environment, interfacing with Software, Hardware, Systems or Test Engineers
- Experience establishing, developing and implementing Configuration Management processes and training, such as configuration control, identification, data library/repository, configuration audits and product release and delivery and including SW installations
- 4+ years experience using Microsoft word and Excel.
- US CITIZENSHIP WITH THE ABILITY TO OBTAIN A SECURITY CLEARANCE.

Desired Skills:
- SW CM tools using such languages as: Perl, shell scripting, C++ and Java. Awareness of ISO/AS9100 or CMMI CM standards
- Solaris OS, Clearcase and ClearQuest administration for a Windows or Unix platform, Subversion, eGit administration
- Experience preparing Task Descriptions and Basis of Estimates for new work/proposals
- Basic understanding of system engineering tasks such as requirements development and management

Education Required (including Major):
Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Science or a related science or engineering field.
