Role Summary/Purpose
The Software Engineer has responsibilities extending to owning the requirements, design, implementation and maintenance of medical imaging applications and platform.
Essential Responsibilities
Working closely with systems engineering team in design, architecture and implementation of the medical imaging application and platform
Own the development, build and releases of software modules to multiple modalities.
Interacting with modality teams in continuous platform integrations
Designing and building strong testing infrastructure to improve productivity
Leveraging DFR for software, Agile and Lean software development methodologies to drive reliability upstream into the product development life cycle
Quality Specific Goals:
Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position
Complete all planned Quality Compliance training within the defined deadlines
Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required
Support compliance/closure of Regulatory and Quality requirements before completing Design Outputs/Program Deliverables
Participate in continuous improvement activities by identifying and appropriately escalating process and product quality gaps, providing solutions when possible
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or related computer field5+ years of experience in software development Strong Expertise in C++ or C programming on Linux/Unix environment and in object oriented design methodology Strong Expertise in Java programming, J2SE on cross OS platform environment.Knowledge of design patternsSoftware development cycle and automated testing experience Working knowledge in configuration management tools such as CVS/SVN/ClearCase Strong Debugging and Troubleshooting ExpertiseFluent English communication in oral and written.

Masters Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related computer fieldBackground and experience in image processing, computer graphics or Medical VisualizationPrevious work on clinical applications and exposure to standards such as DICOM.Expertise in Unix shell programming and/or any rapid development language such as Perl, Ruby, Python etc.Project technical leadership skills consistent with experience. Ability to coordinate and integrate technical projects through excellent global communication and issue resolution.Experience in automated testingProven ability to work cross-functionally
