Switch / Translations Engineer
The Senior Switch Provisioning Technician / Translations Engineer provisions all complex assignment of switch POTS, Business, Centrex and PI lines and trunks for either the Lucent 5E or Metaswitch platform. Provisioning orders will be completed in TBS, Business Objects, Line Activation, and Web Portals. In addition, will work with other OLP departments and customers on turn ups of PRIs and lines. Will work with other carriers on switch to switch T1 and trunk turn ups. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Perform all switch business line translation assignments in either the 5E switch or Metaswitch platform. Perform all Centrex dialing plan and BRCs features translations assignments on PFA, ARS. - Perform all DID and DOD to PBX translation assignments on trunks lines. - Perform translation assignments on ISDN National/Custom applications on BRI and PRI. - Perform all switch line translations for connects, disconnects and changes. - Works with Project Management, Sales and other OLP departments to ensure the successful provisioning of all new products services. - Perform all assignments and translations in a timely and accurate manner - Test and turn up new services with Installation techs and customer vendors. - Perform Trunk provisioning for network augments. - Test and turn up T1s with network techs and other carriers. - Test and turn up trunks with other carriers. - Responsible for performing any and all administrative tasks through use of appropriate company documentation, ensuring documentation is completed in a full and accurate manner. Responsible for informing other departments of any and all issues that may extend beyond the position incumbent's current knowledge or skill level. - Performs such duties, as the position's supervisor may from time to time deem necessary. - Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
