Sybase Database Administrator DBA Job in Cambridge, Anglia UK
My client - a market leader in their field are looking for an experienced Sybase Database Administrator DBA to join the team. You will be working as part of the existing, specialist team in order to maintain and support the Sybase Databases. You will be working as part of the closely-knit team responsible for the following:
- Design, development and on-going support/maintenance of the organisation's databases.
- Working closely with the development and test teams to support both the testing and the pre-production environments.
- Contributing to the 24/7 duty rota in order to support the production systems.
- Improving the existing and delivering new application functionality by working closely with the development teams.
It is absolutely essential that you are holding strong commercial experience of working within a Sybase DBA position and are possessing the following technical skills / experience:
- Proven experience of supporting Sybase databases in a live environment.
- Proven experience of database design in large database systems.
- Strong commercial experience of Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise ASE - ideally v 15.0.3
- Experience of working with Unix / Linux - based systems.
Any candidates holding experience of the following will be at an advantage:
- Sybase Replication Server 12.6 or 15.2.
- Experience of working within financial services.
- Knowledge of Java development and Agile / Scrum methodologies.
