Sybase Database Administrator Job in Calgary, Alberta Canada

Overview:
Our Calgary client is currently seeking the services of an experienced Sybase Database Administrator to build, manage and administrate the Sybase databases and support those applications that use Sybase.
Things you need to have:

Technical Diploma with 5+ years in multi functional roles within various technical environments.

Valid driver's license.

Must have had hands-on experience with Sybase in the last 6 months
-
Very good SQL skills, able to write/QA SQL;

Willing to be on call support; Willing to complete environment enhancements/upgrades outside of normal client hours (8:00am to 5:00pm)

Familiar with data models/modeling;
What you will be doing:
-
Provide Quality Assurance on implementation plans and development deliverables

Provide on call support as required
-
Monitor database efficiency and free space
-
Take and archive backups, Restore backups, Repair database corruption
-
Prepare/produce ad hoc reports as required.

Provide data, technical, and application architecture support for all areas of ISG;

Enforce processes, procedures, and standards;

Participate in design discussions to support project and baseline work
