Syndicate Operations Specialist recruitment
Responsibilities:
- Assisting with structuring equity and debt new issuance and ensuring accurate deal set-up, trade bookings and flows
- Setting deals up in the market and drafting closing documentation for bank-led new issues
- Reconciling firm’s books and records, liaising with settlements teams globally, and working with numerous teams to assist with the flow of information post execution
- Liaising with Common Depositaries, Clearing Houses, and the in-house legal team to successfully close transactions
- Performing trade corrections in a timely and efficient manner, informing traders of any potential issues, and liaising with Agent Banks to minimize PL, reputational and settlement risks
- Interacting with technology teams to ensure efficiency of systems support and execution of deals
- Ensuring trades with other brokers in the syndicate match and settle correctly.
- Weekly risk reporting, and having continuous involvement in initiatives to improve STP metrics and system developments
- Providing updates to senior Operations Management on a weekly and ad-hoc basis on current market conditions and deal pipeline
Skills and Experience
- Degree educated
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as you will often be required to host conference calls or meetings and help structure transactions with banking colleagues, external lawyers and other third parties
- A minimum of 12 months experience in transaction management of equity and debt new issuance within investment banking
- Ability to work under pressure and in a fast paced environment, taking responsibility for structuring and settling high profile transactions for the firm
- A broad understanding of operational functions and their influence on the lifecycle of a trade
- Strong understanding of Equity or Fixed Income Settlement Operations would be helpful but not required
Please note that this is a 6 month temporary assignment with a possibility of rolling over. Successful candidates must be ideally immediately available or on no more than 1 week's notice period.
