Syndicate Reporting Accountant recruitment

Our client requires a highly driven self-starter to provide support to the reporting team in providing high quality and timely information to both the internal and external stakeholders in line with the UK finance strategy.  

As a key member of the finance team, the Syndicate Reporting Accountant will assist the production of the Syndicate Underwriting Result, ensuring complete and timely production of financial information including accurate reflection of results in the General Ledger.

Other duties of the Syndicate Reporting Accountant are as follows:

• To assist and support the analysis of the Syndicate Underwriting Result for the Syndicate Reporting Manager’s review.

• To maintain/enhance an appropriate control environment in all aspects of preparation and analysis of management/financial reporting.

• Provide support in the development and resulting process of new initiatives aimed at improving both the reporting and the control environment.

• To develop and maintain excellent communication with the key stakeholders/contributors within the financial reporting process.

• Regular liaison with the insurance technical accounting team including undertaking a high level review of technical balances

To be successful in this role you must meet the following criteria:

• Qualified Accountant with previous exposure in a financial   environment

• Solid compliance knowledge in Company and/or Lloyd’s markets

• Up to date appreciation of the technical requirements of the role e.g. UK GAAP, IFRS

• Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes and accounting package(s)

• Demonstrable evidence of interpreting manipulating data accurately with the ability to extract clearly articulate key points
